The meeting was held at the OverHere Consulting office and included approval of the previous meeting minutes and a brief financial update, with plans underway to establish a bank account by early December. Members discussed an upcoming technology sharing event focused on adult peer learning, as well as preparations for a bake sale fundraiser connected to the Christmas Stroll, including cash-handling procedures, volunteer scheduling, and signage. Updates were shared on outreach efforts such as the continued development of the chapter website, researching a new banner, and forming a committee to create brochures and posters for local doctor’s offices. Additional discussion covered ideas for future crafting and educational classes, along with general conversation about potential programs the chapter may support. The meeting concluded with details for the next meeting, which will feature a guest speaker on safe winter travel, followed by adjournment.

Treasurer’s Report:

We now have the proper documentation, Ed Worrell will donate the $25.00 to get the account started. He hopes to have the bank account set up by Dec. 1, 2024.

Old Business: Techs-giving:

Saturday 11-16-2024, at 11AM, at the OverHere Consulting office. Members will discuss what technology works for them - a show and tell for adults - sharing information.

New Business:

  • Christmas Stroll: We will do the bake sale for the Christmas Stroll, on 12-06-2024. The event is at the Times Square building. We need $50.00 for the change box. Ed called for donations for the change box. Wava Goetz donated $40.00. Ed’s father is donating the time to print out a couple of small signs for the bake sale
  • Requirements for Christmas Stroll:
    1. Items must be individually wrapped.
    2. One person handles the cash box.
    3. One person counts the money, a second person witnesses, both sign a note stating the total.
    4. The note and the money are sealed in an envelope until the money can be brought to the bank.
    5. Phoenix is to schedule volunteers and shifts.

Outreach and other materials:

  • Chapter Website: Ed Worrell designed it, it has been reviewed by several people, it’s growing, more things are being added. The web site is mabrrc.org.
  • New Banner: Kristi Eagle Horse will research the cost of making a new banner.
  • Brochures and Posters for Doctor’s Offices: Ed suggested that 3 or 4 members get together to design brochures and posters for the doctor’s offices. Ed also suggested we form a committee. Several members volunteered: Ed Worrell, Becky Worrell, Phoenix Robinson, Kathy Reed, and Kristi Eagle Horse.
  • Discussion regarding different crafting classes:
    1. Ron B. suggested a weaving class, Ed asked him to get the necessary contact information.
    2. Phoenix and Satin suggested the Farmer’s Daughter’s Fibers, Ed again asked for the contact information.

Next Meeting:

12-14-2024, 1PM, at the OverHere Consulting office. Chris Tabb will be our guest speaker. He will talk about safe travel during winter months, and bring various canes and tips. Phoenix and Satin will film the talk, and Ed will put it on the website (depending on video quality).
